This course is designed for English learners looking for an intensive language-learning opportunity. Throughout your language training, the teacher will continuously assess your ability in the four language skills – Speaking, Listening, Reading, and Writing; and the four language systems – Grammar, Vocabulary, Phonology, and Function. Textbooks and materials are all included in course prices, and all of the teachers are experienced native English instructors – either certified in teaching English as a foreign language or with their Bachelors and/or Masters in Education. Because this is a private lesson, learners can direct the class to focus on a specific professional area such as medical or business English.

The Language Plus Institute is located in a beautifully restored building in the historic district of El Paso, right on the border of the States of Texas / New Mexico and the country of Mexico. This area blends languages and cultures that include the American west, colonial Mexico and ancient American native tribes.

"Few options, no groups."

Carolina Freire

My children took English classes for one month at Language Plus.
They had to share the teacher because there were no groups.
The teacher was good although she did many games and did not focus on what I asked for.
I had Spanish classes with Emma for two weeks and she was great!

Host families are all carefully evaluated and approved. Most have been working with Language Plus for years. Home stays include a private room and a shared bathroom. Private bathrooms are available for an additional charge, but availability is limited. Host families include breakfast and dinner 7 days/week and all homes have WiFi and cable or satellite TV. Our host families are very accustomed to hosting international guests and most families are happy to cook vegetarian, vegan, and gluten free meals. Most families are within a 15 to 20 minute walk or 10 to15 minute taxi/bus ride from the Language Plus institute.
